Even though the black paint isn't the way it looks in the picture it's still the durable, sharp, heavy, blade I was hoping it would be :D

The blade is of excellent quality. Only the fittings are cheaply made. Everything else is top notch. The blade is sharp stong and heavy.. It is truly a weapon to behold. I love it.

As a new collector, i didnt know what to expect. my katana showed up ahead of schedual which was fantastic. Opened the package and i was amazed at the quality i was looking at. Actual hamon, real ray skin grip, razor sharp and gorgeous. Came with certificate of authenticity and a cotton bag. Vary strong construction! Feels great in hands and didnt wobble (tight). Can NOT get a better sword for your money!

This sword came just as shown, and is in top quality. There is but one minor complaint, but it doesn't affect the product in any way: There is a slight flaw where the cord wraps around the saya, and a small scratch going up an inch along the saya, from that point. Again, it's nothing to worry about. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase, and I will buy from the seller again, if I see another sword I like.

I was apprehensive before purchasing a product from Cold Steel for the first time but they did not disappoint. This sword is solid, heavy, and EXTREMELY sharp. The blade is more than a quarter inch thick for virtually the entire length of the blade. The blade is monotempered steel, and is not Damascus (folded) steel as is traditional with this type of sword, but nonetheless this is a quality weapon for the consumer that is not able to purchase a more authentic katana.

This is my first sword. It came in perfect condition. The handle and wrapping were tight. The blade was very nice with no defects. The sword has a good edge but needed some final sharpening to slice stuff up. I filled a plastic bottle with water and it busted/cut it some and knocked it into the bushes. I sharpened it a little and re-tried my test. It sliced through with so little resistance it was a little scary. This thing is ready to go now. I also waxed the scabbard and it really made it shine. If its as tough as the videos show...its a keeper. I also bought a bokken to practice with.....which was a good call because a mistake might cost me some stitches or worse. :D

Not very impressed with the description when u say something is sharp that's how it should come this thing is so dam dull. Love the sword but was really excited for it to be sharp

Great sword, expecially for the price. The blade looks great and feels very high quality. It came sharp, but not razer sharp. You can still cut paper with it if you wanted.

The craftsmanship is pretty good and I am pleased with this purchase. I was wanted to build a sword when I found this one and just couldn't pass it up. From all of the parts that I found this one had the best detailed and unique parts. It also came in well packaged and sharp.

cant beat this sword for the price. a little heavy but I expected that. came sharp and in perfect condition.

My first katana and I love it. Well balanced blade and the fact that they engrave for free is nice. I got the electroplated black instead of red. The way they ship it is fantastic. Completely wrapped up in Styrofoam to ensure safe overseas travel. I would definitely buy again. Detail on the katana is nice too. Hope this helps.

I had no idea that this existed, but I'm so glad I found it by chance on this site. My boy loves it and will have it for a long time. It's not going to break anytime soon.

I have this for a couple days when the rubbery band above the hand guard just cracked and fell off. But, its not that big of a deal because the hand guard is still secure. I am still very happy with the purchase.
