SWISH! Love it, great quality, the hamon is beautifully done, everything is solid. It's a thick razor blade, you will not be disappointed.

I was apprehensive before purchasing a product from Cold Steel for the first time but they did not disappoint. This sword is solid, heavy, and EXTREMELY sharp. The blade is more than a quarter inch thick for virtually the entire length of the blade. The blade is monotempered steel, and is not Damascus (folded) steel as is traditional with this type of sword, but nonetheless this is a quality weapon for the consumer that is not able to purchase a more authentic katana.

The first thing I did when i got it was a paper test, after i wiped off all the oil/wax it was coated in for storage/shipping. it cut well, then reoiled it. There was a few scuffs on the blade up near the point but they didn't really concern me, I took off the handle to see the full tang, and getting the bamboo pegs out was sort of a difficult task for the first time, they were in there tight, and getting the handle away from the tsuba was very hard because of how tight it is, (same goes for putting it back on). all in all, a very well made sword, beautifully decorated tsuba, i looked at a lot of different functional swords 200 dollars and less before I decided on this one, and I'm happy I did. even with the scuffs, I still look forward to getting a display stand and displaying this thing. There is a tiny dent on the front tsuba guard, (the piece between the tsuba and the blade that can't even be removed (at least I couldn't)) however it's so small it's hardly noticable unless the light hits it just right, so it doesn't bother me.

This thing is very well made and extremely sharp dropped an orange from about a foot onto the sharp side and the orange hit the ground after splitting in half

It's good for show but if u cut with it the gold starts to come off

Excellent katana

The weapon came in a box within a box, I assume as part of the transfer from UPS to the USPS. There was no paperwork, only the manufacturers markings on the inner box. The weapon was flawless, and with a heavy coating of foundry grease on the blade.

This was a Christmas gift for my fiance. I also purchased the display case so he could hang it on the wall. High quality and very impressive. Now I want one, too!

I contemplated buying this sword for my husband for a long time but decided to do it. What an amazing gift!!! I can not say it enough...my husband loved it. It is sharp, great quality, and a perfect replica. My husband is ready for the zombie apocalypse...lol. Shipping was quicker then expected and sword was packaged well to avoid any damage. Not very impressed with the description when u say something is sharp that's how it should come this thing is so dam dull. Love the sword but was really excited for it to be sharp

This katana was everything I hoped for and more, it arrived on time and in excellent condition. My only complaint is that it says china on the brass plate(I forget the name, the one between the tsuba and the habaki)but that can easily be replaced. I would definitely buy from this seller again. If you're looking for a handmade sword but can't afford a paul chen, then this should be the one you choose.

At first it felt small in my hand. Very lightweight blade with nice long o-kissake' But the tsuba is kind of small so, this is a nice katana but somewhat feels wakizashi-ish, which i do like its just not the sword i was expecting so at first I was surprised is all. Fittings are tight blade is very nice. I think the o-kissake(Blade tip)

Cold Steel products are known for their durability and this item keeps that reputation in place. My only complaint is that it does seem a bit on the light side, but that is the same for all of Cold Steel's polypropylene practice weapons.

I just wanted the wakizashi for a photography piece I was working on. I didn't know that this came as two swords that fit together. I was pleasantly surprised! The edge was a little sharper than another prop sword I had, so be aware of that if you have kids. I will say it's not as shiny as it looks in the picture, but maybe that's because I didn't polish it or something.

I purchased it for my son-in-law, and he loves it.
