Wasn't expecting much at this price point but the katana delivered was very nice, pommel, tsuba, wrapping all very tight, the blade looked gorgeous as well as functional, way more sword than I need at my skill level (which is zero). Maker and seller delivered a very nice product that I am more than happy with and can display proudly. Thank you Amazon for bringing me this wonderful deal.
I love this weapon. It maybe lighter than wood, but it is far more durable. I also like its lightness because it can used with speed. I plan to get a second one to have a matching pair. I have 2 Wooden Wakazashi Bokken and 1 Wooden Tanto Bokken, and all three are stored because they get chipped and start to split. I will only use Cold Steel Trainers from now on. The Cold Steel trainers don't have the distracting vibration that wood creates hitting a target. Lastly, a well placed strike with a Cold Steel trainer can be just as brutal as a Wooden Bokken strike.
First I want to say that I received the sword incredibly quick, faster than it said I would. The sword itself is very well made, beautiful sturdy very sharp blade. I loved everything about it! Was as described and definitely will be purchasing more swords from this seller.
This is a beautiful piece. If you are looking for an awesome sword for your collection, or your first katana, don't hesitate. This one is worth every penny.
Now I may be mistaken, but this looks just like the Musashi Bamboo Warrior katana. Which in that case isn't a pretty awesome bugmdget katana with real carbon steel and hamon. But it's also like only a $100 sword. Soo... Look for the authentic Musashi stamp or Smith signature on the tang.
This sword came just as shown, and is in top quality. There is but one minor complaint, but it doesn't affect the product in any way: There is a slight flaw where the cord wraps around the saya, and a small scratch going up an inch along the saya, from that point. Again, it's nothing to worry about. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase, and I will buy from the seller again, if I see another sword I like.
Bought it when it was in the 10.00 range. My son loves it and now I don't have to keep wasting money on toy swords that break shortly after light to moderate use.
I was apprehensive before purchasing a product from Cold Steel for the first time but they did not disappoint. This sword is solid, heavy, and EXTREMELY sharp. The blade is more than a quarter inch thick for virtually the entire length of the blade. The blade is monotempered steel, and is not Damascus (folded) steel as is traditional with this type of sword, but nonetheless this is a quality weapon for the consumer that is not able to purchase a more authentic katana.
